How to play Flag
You're shown a country's flag — but hidden behind tiles. One tile is uncovered to start, and each wrong guess reveals one more. You have six guesses to name the country.
After each guess
If you're wrong, another tile of the flag appears — and you get three hints about where the answer is, relative to your guess:
- Distance — the great-circle distance in kilometres.
- Direction — an arrow pointing from your guess toward the answer (N, NE, E, …).
- Proximity — a percentage and colour: the greener and closer to 100%, the nearer you are.
Stuck?
No idea? Hit Skip — it reveals another tile and uses one of your six turns, but doesn't cost you a wrong country. Six skips (or six wrong guesses) ends the game.
Winning
Guess the exact country to win — the full flag is revealed. After the game you can share a spoiler-free grid of your result — coloured squares and arrows, no country names.
Every day
A new flag appears each day. Everyone gets the same puzzle. Missed a day? The archive has every past puzzle.
