How to play Crossword
It's a 5×5 mini crossword. Every square is open, so each of the five rows is a word (the Across answers) and each of the five columns is a word (the Down answers) — ten interlocking words in all.
Filling it in
- Tap a square (or a clue) to start there. Your keyboard opens and the clue you're solving shows at the bottom.
- Type a letter and it fills the square, then moves to the next square in the word — keep typing to fill the whole word.
- Switch direction — tap the current square again, or the ↔ button, to flip between Across and Down.
- Backspace clears a square and steps back.
Checking & giving up
Hit Check to mark any wrong letters in red — no penalty, check as often as you like. Stuck for good? Reveal fills the solution and ends the game.
Winning
Fill every square correctly to win — the timer stops and you can share your result: a spoiler-free grid of squares plus your time, no letters given away.
Every day
A new crossword appears each day, the same for everyone. Missed one? The archive has every past grid.
